Just a note about comments

yippee, anonymous comments! whoo-hoo! okay. how about a column on what to do if you're a person who can think of act one set ups okay but for the life o' him or her, can't get beyond that. is there's a solution? if so, what is it? has anything in your reading addressed this? partially, i think this is what's going on: my left brain operates just fine while thinking about act one. but my right brain kicks in for act two and all i can think of are things that have been used in movies before. nothing original, all derivative. care to address this ... syndrome?
